What Is Neocutis?

Most of us make a lot of effort to find the right skincare products to take care of our skin, but often finding the right products gets more challenging as we age and as our hormones change the composition of our skin. The truth is that hormone and age-related skin concerns can’t be managed by typical over-the-counter skincare products. At Premiere Center for Health and Wellness in Cincinnati, OH we are fully prepared to help with hormone health for women and men, including taking care of skin with products such as Neocutis!

What Is Neocutis?

Neocutis is a distinguished line of skincare products that are formulated with the latest scientific research that rejuvenates and refines skin. Like its namesake, this skincare line is new, unique, and a revolutionary answer to manage the challenges associated with aging skin. The skincare products in the Neocutis family are each specialized to create a topical system that nourishes and supports the skin. Our favorite products include:

MicroDay

Any decent skincare line will include a moisturizing day cream that also helps protect the skin from the sun and harmful UV rays. MicroDay is an advanced, multifunctional, anti-aging day cream that has a silky, serum-like texture and absorbs quickly into the skin. MicroDay helps maintain skin’s moisture, protects against sunlight, minimizes the appearance of fine lines, and improves the elasticity of the skin over time.

MicroNight

The best skincare lines also have high caliber night creams that work twice as hard to soothe and nourish skin while you sleep. MicroNight is a rich cream formulated with skin-enriching lipids and enzymes to help rejuvenate the skin. MicroNight provides skin with all the nutrients it needs to support skin structure while also moisturizing, tightening, and minimizing signs of aging.

MicroEyes

We often find that the first and most visible signs of aging happen around the eyes. The skin around the eyes is the most delicate skin on the body, meaning it is sensitive and much thinner than the rest of our skin. Ultimately, such delicate skin requires its own anti-aging solution, such as MicroEyes. MicroEyes is an anti-aging eye serum formulated with hydrating botanicals and caffeine to reduce the appearance of puffiness, eye sagging, and dark circles beneath the eyes.

MicroSerum

You can think of serums as super-powered skin care products that help support and extend the effectiveness of other products. MicroSerum is a concentrated formula of nourishing botanicals and enzymes that keep skin supple and lifted. MicroSerum can help tighten skin, reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and support skin moisture.

MicroFirm

Over-the-counter firming creams are usually limited in their effectiveness, mostly because the skin on the neck is challenged the most by gravity. The most effective skin-firming creams are those that have concentrated formulas, which is why MicroFirm is an exceptional product. MicroFirm is an advanced cream made with skin lifting and hydrating peptides and is most effective in firming the skin on the neck, beneath the chin, and in the décolleté area.

MicroBody

Skincare is not just about the face. It includes caring for the skin on the body, too. MicroBody is a nourishing anti-aging body lotion that supports skin elasticity and moisture while also diminishing the appearance of sagging skin and cellulite. MicroBody is an effective all-over body cream that can keep your skin supple between cosmetic treatments.

Hyalis

Recently, hyaluronic acid has gained a reputation as a must-have in moisturizing skin care products. Hyalis is a fast-acting anti-aging serum that corrects dry skin and creates a supple, dewy skin appearance. The key to hyalis is the concentrated formula of hyaluronic acid, which penetrates the skin to nourish from the inside out.

Is Neocutis Right for You?

There are some skincare products that are only appropriate for certain people, but this line of skincare products is not one of those. Unlike other high-grade lines, there are very few risks of allergies or pigmentation associated with these products. Overall, this skincare line is considered ideal for most patients with aging skin, so chances are high that these products are right for you. We will help you determine if these products are an ideal fit during your consultation.

Aging Skin 101

It isn’t easy living with aging skin. Age-related changes to skin often cause unique challenges and unexpected changes. Knowing about aging skin is the first step in learning how to take care of your skin the right way.

What Are Some Age Related Skin Concerns?

Most people share the same age-related skin concerns, though they don’t always show up at the same point. These concerns are not harmful, but they also don’t help us feel very confident. Age-related skin concerns sometimes vary, but the most common skin concerns include:

  • Fine lines around the eyes and mouth
  • Wrinkles on the forehead and between brows
  • Loose or sagging skin
  • Loss of skin volume
  • Dark circles beneath the eyes
  • Sagging eyebrows
  • Less definition in the chin and jaw
  • Visible sun damage and dark spots
  • Scarring and uneven skin texture
  • Uneven skin tone
  • Dry and thinning skin
  • Skin sensitivity

With so many age-related skin concerns, it’s easy to see why many people become distressed when these new challenges being to pile on one other. It can be overwhelming trying to manage moderate and severe age-related skin concerns by yourself, but that’s why we’re here to help.

What Causes Visible Aging?

Unfortunately, visible aging of the skin is inevitable. Visible aging is just something that happens as a result of the body’s natural skin regeneration and the way it slows down after a certain point. For most people, the body’s regenerative abilities begin to slow around the mid-30s or so, though some lucky people will enjoy youthful skin for a bit longer. The causes, and timing, of these visible skin changes are due to:

Genetics

Your genetics dictate everything about your life, including how early you will see signs of aging and exactly how visible those signs are. The easiest evidence of this is how quickly you notice grey hairs showing up or how soon you notice expression lines on your skin. If your parents were pre-maturely grey or formed deep smile lines in their 30s, the chances are reasonably high that you will follow the same pattern.

Collagen Decline

A decrease in collagen production is probably the number one cause for visible aging. Collagen is a protein within the skin that supports skin structure and volume, and it is also one of the first skin regeneration properties that slows down as you age. A decrease of collagen present within the skin causes the formation of fine lines, wrinkles, thinning skin, and skin laxity.

Hormone Changes

Hormones determine almost every functional pattern in our bodies, including how quickly we turn over skin cells and the production of oil in our pores. Hormones can be the reason why teenagers have breakouts, just like hormones can also be the reason why people in their 40s and 50s notice the development of dark spots, pigmentation, and other age-related skin concerns. When hormone production changes, the condition of our skin does, too.

How Do Hormones Affect Skin?

For adults, the most obvious hormonal changes that will affect the skin are the imbalances that are associated with menopause and andropause. Both menopause and andropause are associated with dry skin, thinning skin, and new skin sensitivities. Why? Because the rapid reversal in the hormonal balance means that skin is not regenerating at its optimum rate, leaving skin vulnerable to the environment.

Can Neocutis Help Manage Hormone Related Skin Changes?

Neocutis is the perfect answer to treating the skin changes that come with hormonal changes. These skincare products are specially formulated with botanicals, enzymes, and peptides that help replace the natural skin supports that are lost due to hormonal changes. The best way to manage hormone-related skin changes is by nourishing and providing support to the skin with enriched creams and serums.

Can Neocutis Products Be Combined?

These skincare products are highly compatible with a number of different treatments and therapies. In fact, we often recommend that patients who have certain cosmetic treatments use these products to care for the skin between appointments to help maintain and extend results. Common treatments that are combined with these products include:

Hormone Therapy

What better way to support the good work of your skincare products than to start managing your hormonal changes? Hormone therapy, such as bioidentical hormone replacement with hormone pellets, is a great way to manage the most drastic and concerning hormone-related changes men and women experience as they age. Hormone therapy can help you reduce mood swings, hot flashes, hair loss, weight gain, and other distressing symptoms of hormonal imbalance. Hormone therapy can also help you take care of your skin on a cellular level.

Facials and Chemical Peels

Facials and chemical peels are intense skin treatments that can reverse and minimize most superficial skin concerns, including scarring, dark spots, uneven skin tone, uneven texture, and even fine lines. Using the right skincare products between facials and peels can make these treatments more effective.

Skin Resurfacing and Tightening

Energy-based treatments to resurface and tighten skin can help rejuvenate your entire appearance. Using skincare products such as these in between treatment appointments can help reduce side effects, such as redness and dryness, as well as extend the results of the treatment.

Dermal Fillers and Injectables

Dermal fillers and injectable treatments are ideal solutions for moderate and severe skin concerns, such as loss of volume, deep wrinkles, and skin laxity. And while it is possible to combine fillers and neurotoxins to contour your appearance, it is also necessary to treat the surface of the skin so that you can look your best.

Who Are Good Candidates?

The vast majority of patients at our practice are good candidates for these skincare products. Good candidates for these products include patients who are not allergic or sensitive to the products and patients who are committed to the regular use of these creams and serums. Ideal candidates include patients who have age-related and hormone-related skin changes such as:

  • Dry, thin, or rough skin
  • Minor or mild skin laxity
  • Dark spots or pigmentation
  • Uneven skin tone
  • Fine lines
